Will Judge Sotomayor speak out against the unwarranted attack on Frank Ricci?

            Supporters of the Obama administration have targeted “Joe the plumber” and now Frank Ricci, both private citizens. Frank Ricci won his case that reversed Judge Sotomayor. Ricci is the learning disabled applicant for the Fire Department who along with other employees filed suit claiming they were discriminated against. He is now being targeted by Judge Sotomayor’s political allies.

            The question is whether Judge Sotomayor will come to Ricci’s defense? After all the Mr. Ricci’s case was not about Mr. Ricci’s work history, but on the fact that he scored higher then any of the minorities who took the test and was not considered for promotion.

            We should be calling upon Judge Sotomayor to call off the attack dogs of the liberal advocacy group People for the American Way.

            They say that Ricci filed a discrimination claim in 1995 against the city of New Haven claiming that he was discriminated against due to his learning disability, and that therefore he is “litigious”. Unless I am mistaken a person who asserts his rights under civil rights legislation should not suffer adverse consequences that would have a chilling effect on claims by others who are discriminated against.
