Since I have access to the NY Times online and I am a skeptic, believing that the NY Times is not a reliable source for the truth, I did a search of headlines of the Times for the past several years. These are some of the headlines all of which presuppose that global warming is a fact and is manmade. In 2010 already there have been 19 articles all supporting global warming. In 2009 there were 141. In 2008 there were 66. In 2007 there were 102. There were no articles that questioned the existence of global warming, and no articles that offered contrary evidence. Yet I do not expect the “convinced” to even read this email much less be persuaded by it. This is so when the beliefs held by individuals are so intertwined with their sense of worth that to change one’s opinion is to deny one’s self-worth. Climate Fight Is Heating Up In Deep Freeze this article supports the claim that cold weather and snow are the result of global warming. It criticizes claims that the recent snow and cold evidences a trend toward cooling; however, in the past experts have used warm weather to support their preconceived belief that man has caused global warming. They can’t have it both ways. Evidence of Climate Change notice how the Times dismisses the lies and fraud of scientist who falsely reported global warming: “As the cloud of confusion and speculation sparked by the stolen university e-mail messages begins to clear, it is time to return our attention to the unequivocal scientific evidence of our changing climate.” There is no confusion about the lies. And the emails were not stolen! Notice how easily the anointed can dismiss what they don’t want to hear. A Federal Climate Service Is Created to Provide Do we need a new organization to confirm global warming? National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration: Notice the presupposition that global warming is a fact: "By providing critical planning information that our businesses and our communities need, NOAA Climate Service will help tackle head-on the challenges of mitigating and adapting to climate change," U.N. Climate Panel and Its Chief Face a Siege on Their Credibility while reporting on the lies of the scientist upon whom the government relied in part to confirm the intelligentsia’s believe that global warming is manmade, the Times offers the typical “general consensus” argument that is so familiar: “The general consensus among mainstream scientists is that the errors are in any case minor and do not undermine the report's conclusions.” The fact is that these arguments are not arguments at all. They are unsubstantiated and should be questioned. A few of those “mainstream scientists have been exposed as frauds”. Researcher On Climate Is Cleared In Inquiry this article goes out of its way to absolve the lying scientists: “An academic board of inquiry has largely cleared a noted Pennsylvania State University climatologist of scientific misconduct, but a second panel will convene to determine whether his behavior undermined public faith in the science of climate change, the university said Wednesday.” Only the anointed would accept this conclusion without questioning the motives of the “academic board” and asking: Who are these people? |
